Welcome to the parish of Monks Risborough with Owlswick.  Whoever you are, you are very welcome here.

We are a Christian community in the heart of Buckinghamshire, drawn together by the love of Jesus Christ, and looking to share His love throughout our local community. We don’t always get it right, but we do our best, and find God’s love and grace when we stumble.

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church you can call home, whether you’re looking to be part of a community or are just curious, you are very welcome.

Helping our Wild Areas Thrive

This year we have conducted a survey of what grows in the wild areas of our churchyard. We have subsequently undertaken research to inform our management of these sections, as well receiving advice from the Environmental Action Team at the Diocese of Oxford, so that with careful work we can continue to see them thrive.

To help the wildflowers and plants flourish in the banks leading from the church down towards the main body of the churchyard, we have been undertaking some work to tend these areas, beginning with cutting the brambles and thorns back where they have become dominant. Some of the plant species there are also being carefully managed at the appropriate levels to enable them to really thrive in 2027.

We hope to see the fruits of those labours next spring and summer, and look forward to these already wonderful wild areas continuing to provide colour, habitats for wildlife, and greater biodiversity in our churchyard.
 

Bell Ringing at St Dunstan’s

 

At St Dunstan’s. The bells will be rung prior to the 10.00 am service on Sundays, and for practice between 7.30 and 9.00 pm on Thursday evenings.

We will endeavour to also give notice here of any additional occasions when the bells will be rung prior to a special service.

 

Wedding Bells This Saturday

Our bells will be ringing at around 3.10pm this Saturday 26th September to herald the marriage of Tom and Antonia – if you hear them, you will know that a newly married couple have just walked out of church and into the world as husband and wife.
 

St Dunstan’s Church is now open daily
from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm 

 The church may be closed to visitors occasionally, for example, during music practice.

At St Dunstan’s and St Peter’s, the wellbeing and safety of all within our community is of paramount importance.
